Car De-Icer - Safe, Convenient, Essential

The winter of 2012 is forecast to be the worst on record for at least a century. James Madden, forecaster at Exacta Weather said, “Temperatures will fall as low as minus 20C in rural areas while heavy snow and “potentially dangerous” blizzards will close roads and cripple rail networks. He added, “We are looking at some of the coldest and snowiest conditions in at least 100 years”. Even during November, some parts of the country were noted to be experiencing sub-Arctic temperatures and snow has already made an appearance.

Chemical de-icers work by preventing water molecules from binding once above a certain temperature: 0°C, water’s natural freezing point. This causes ice to melt from the surface the de-icer has been applied to, restoring full visibility in the case of car windows. Obviously, a driver should always have 100% visibility when operating a motor vehicle but this is never more important than during the winter months, when light levels are at a minimum and road surfaces treacherous. De-icer acts quickly and effectively, leaving no smears and rapidly allowing the complete clearing of car windows from frost, snow and ice.
